I was a bit tired from work, so Edina was going to drive.. Her first time with and automatic and in America! She got hold of it pretty quickly and said it was even easier than normal cars as you don't need to worry about the gears.
We stopped on the main road there was an empy parking slot with a parking meter. We didn't really know how it worked so we had to ask a woman.
We got into Maxwell, it has an authentic american atmosphere, we got a table and scanned the menu. At the end we went for the "patriotic omelette". It was very nice, although I didn't like the iced tea as it didn't have sugar!
After a nice breakfast, we headed to Santa Monica pier. First we wanted to go to a mall, but there were some roadworks and we couldn't find it, so we found a parking next to the beach (it was 12$ for the day) and started walking around the pier.
It was full of people! There were plenty of attractions for the kids, etc. On one of the sides, looking at the beach we saw a photographer with a model..
Then we went to the beach, to lay down nicely and try to get a tan.. We could hear a lot of spanish! Edina was a bit jelous that I could understand everything..
The sun got us very hot so we decided to get a refreshment, and something to eat. There was a "Bubba Gump" just next to the beach, it's a restaurant which serves only shrimps, all kinds of shrimps cooked differently. It appears in the movie "Forrest Gump"!
As Edina was driving, I got the chance of getting myself a good pint of Budweiser, along with my shrimps.
The shrimps were very nice, here is a pic my plate:
Then we went home, we were quite tired from being up from so early. We opened both garden doors, and slept the whole evening in the bed while hearing the nice sounds from the fountain and birds!
At around 9 we got up and watched the tv while drinking a bottle of nice californian red wine.
