Second day - Venice Beach

Last night I couldn't sleep very well. Probably it's still the jet lag. We woke up at around 2am, we couldn't sleep any more!! It was a good chance to work at uk hours, so I spend quite a few hours working. After inspecting the tv, and fixing the toilet (yes!), we decided to go for breakfast. I found a place with good reviews online called Maxwell cafe, but it was closed. Then driving around we found a doughnuts place.

Had a couple of them, and then we went to a little shop. We bought the LA times and USA Today.

We wanted to see the beach, and although it was a bit early (8am), we headed for the beach. We parked just next to the venice pier, paid 2$ for the meter, and walked along the pier. Being so early, it was a bit cloudy but it was very nice. There was plenty of people doing early morning exercise, running, with the bikes, etc. There were also a lot of surfers!

After around an hour, we drove back home to have some quite time. Here you can see us spending some nice early morning time reading the news:




The landlord arrived at around 09:15 to collect the payment and show us the house, etc. Very nice guy, he gave us a lot of advice about good places to go, etc. He showed us the garden and how to switch on the fountain which makes a very lovely sound (which I'm hearing now while I'm writing this in the garden in my ipad btw). He also showed us how to collect oranges and lemons from the trees! He is on the cinema business and writes for the la times.

We went to costco to buy some stuff, everything is huge! We started getting hungry, bought some already made enchiladas, some wine, etc. and headed home for a very nice meal.

After that, the sun was shining so we decided to chill out in the garden. It's fantastic!




Then we went out to take some pictures with the car! Here you can see a couple of them, it's a chevy hhr:







After that we went to venice beach and had a long walk on the shore. We saw the baywatch and had to take a picture!




After going quite far on the shore, we came back on the beach walk and it was very nice, lot of shops, etc. We even saw a filming team. I tried to take and security came very quickly to stop me, although I got the first one!




Security told me it was a commercial (advert) for some tv show.

We sat in a bar just in front of the filming and Edina had a nice beer, and I had an orange juice (as I was driving) along with some chicken wings. The waiter was argentinian so we spoke a bit aboug football etc.

After that we went home, watch some tv and went to bed at around 9pm. It was a long day!
