We had never been in such a long flight, but it wasn't as bad as it sounds. We flew with air new zealand, in a boeing 747. The plane is huge and it has three rows of passengers and two stories.
There was a very cool multimedia screen and a remote control where you could choose between 70 different movies, some series, and even play games as the remote was also a game controller!
We watched two movies, there was also dinner and we had quite a few glasses of red wine (included in price). Edina then proceeded to sleep and I was going to do the same but I met a spanish guy who was going to new zealand so I stayed up a couple of beers more, then we met a flight attendant who was also spanish so the party got even louder!
I could only sleep 2h, and after 11h of flight from Heathrow we finally arrived at LAX. Customs was very kick and easy compared to what we thought! Then we went to Hertz via shuttle bus and picked up our rental car (a Chevy HHR). I didn't know how to drive and automatic car so after a few failed attempts, I called a guy and asked him for a quick howto for the automatics. I didn't even know what each letter meant!
Then we set up the gps, drove for around 15 minutes, and arrived to our house! The streets look so weird compared to europe, it's like being inside a movie! When we arrived, the keys were under the mat (like in the movies), and everything looked perfect!
There was a problem though, that we later found out. The toilet was blocked and the water overfilled and...
After 24h without any sleep we finally went to bed at 23:00 pacific time...
